Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative, non-pathologizing and evidence-based approach that helps you reconnect to the wisdom and compassion you were born with. In IFS, we respect that we are all made up of many parts—like an inner-critic, shutdown/disconnect or worrier part, etc. Often these parts of ourselves have different—and sometimes conflicting or polarizing—thoughts and feelings. The limiting patterns and associated negative beliefs that hold you back, likely learned earlier in life and reinforced over years, were adaptive for a time.
Our work begins with the assumption that all parts have positive intentions for you. So, instead of trying to get rid of any thought, feeling, or sensation I’ll help you learn to extend curiosity and compassion to whatever feels hard to be with inside yourself. IFS therapy connects you with your inner healing intelligence, called Self, that then updates outdated ways of being and brings forth balance and aliveness.
